Vru Patel’s latest genre-fusing exploration of sound. Psychosis is conceived as a journey through the mysteries of an unhinged mind that has lost touch with reality, Psychosis is a beguiling and cinematic trip, weaving visions of space with sounds from the East.
First single and album opener ‘Panic Attack’ locks you in with its perpetual crescendo, an all-encompassing noise rising from nothingness. From there the album deals in electronic atmospherics, until penultimate track and album climax ‘And Then There Was Light’ explodes with beautiful, show-stopping Indian sounding strings. With it’s deep, agile arrangements and futuristic edge, Psychosis is an addictive and vital record.
